Overheard on the El Today
According to a group of teenage girls of whom I couldn't get out of earshot, slide shows set to Green Day songs, particularly "Good Riddance" (which they referred to by its parenthetical title, "Time of Your Life"), are boring. Just a helpful pointer to anyone planning a slide show in the near future.

So, did the girls say anything positive about slide shows set to some other songs? Or was it slide shows in general that was the problem?
No, it was Green Day they didn't like, and particularly that song. From the sound of it, they had been subjected to more than a handful of them lately, and "Good Riddance" does lean to the saccharin side just a bit. I'm not sure I can say where they stood on slide shows in general.
Maybe teenage girls don't have such rotten taste after all.
