I'm not sure whether you've mentioned that before (although now that I think of it, perhaps you have) but it occurred to me last night that you'd be someone who'd enjoy Gerber's work if you weren't already familiar with it.
There is a nice collection of Gerber's Howard the Duck stories due out at the end of March, and I heartily recommend it to anyone who has never read them. I don't think it's an exaggeration to say that Gerber transformed the U.S. comics industry, or that without Gerber, guys like Brian K. Vaughn, Brian Azarello, Brian Wood, and other similar writers (some named Brian, some not) couldn't do the kinds of stories they do in comics.

As the proud owner of a virtually complete set of HTD comic books, I am saddened by the news of Mr. Gerber's passing.

Are you talking about the Howard Ominbus? I've heard tell that it's coming, but I know nothing about the details.
Doug, I am talking about the Howard the Duck Omnibus. It's apparently been delayed until June, though.
