More Court Maneuvering

A number of people have reported that Rehnquist is intending to resign from the Supreme Court on Friday morning, but now Kevin Drum has heard a rumor that John Paul Stevens will announce his retirement as well. If Bush has three vacancies to fill at once, there's no compromise that can work to the advantage of progressives. Even if Stevens doesn't retire immediately, the man is 85 years old, so he's not exactly there for the long haul. Any suggestions for Plan B are welcome.
